I have been doing a little bit of traveling lately catching up with Family cause sometimes phoning and skyping is just not quite enough.  So I had to see them all and collect all my hugs in person.  My son and his family are all in Singapore so a lovely week was spent visiting them.

Then popped up to Darwin for a few days to catch up with my brother and his family.  It was just as hot and sticky here as it was in Singapore!!! but got to spend some time on my brother's boat and it was just perfect :) :)

So now back to my fun crafting world and it is only 29 days till Christmas Day!!!!  So many things to do.

If you have a "crafty" friend to buy for Christmas and you don't know what to get?  How about a Stampin' Up! Gift Card through me?  If you live in Australia just email me here and I will let you know the details.  I will also include a free Occasions Catalogue, which begins 04 January 2017,  with every Gift Card issued as well as the Gift Card Holder. What crafter would not love a new Catalogue to browse through over the Christmas break and then go shopping after Christmas for all the new fun things coming out in January :)  I would love it!!!

October News

Hi there Stampers

Boy where does the time go????  One whole month has gone already since my last post :/
My World Card Making Day early in October was a success and I have a winner for my September Competition.  Thank you to all those happy stampers who placed an order online at my shop :) and the lucky winner is Robyn!!!!  Congrats Robyn and hope you enjoy all the goodies you picked up with the $50.00 Gift Voucher.

We did a few Make-and-Takes with the ladies who popped in over the course of the day...

This first one was a simple and easy Christmas card using the markers on the acrylic block technique as the background to the sentiment which is from the "Wondrous Wreath" Stamp Set and "Warmth and Cheer" Designer Washi Tape.  Each card turned out slightly different which is the beauty of this technique

The second Make-and-Take demonstrated by Sonia, my wonderful and talented Team Member, used the Z-Fold Technique and the "Floral Phrases" Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper.  This has to be one of my favourites in this Annual Catalogue.

This one also used washi tape in the design.

I had a break from stamping later in October when I visited my Son and his family in Singapore. My son took a few days off work while I was there and I got to spend some really lovely family time with them all :) My Daughter-in-Law had to go to work :(  We had fun at the Aquarium and lunch at The Hard Rock Cafe on Sentosa Island

and did the tourist topless bus trip which my 4 1/2year old Grandson loved both :)

So now back to my days of Stamping Fun on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.  How I love home and our beautiful weather and beaches :) :)

Busy getting ready for Stampin' Up!s annual OnStage Event at the moment,  which is being held at different locations all over the world, however, the main event will be here in Brisbane!!!  I am just sooooo excited to meet all the demonstrators who are making the journey to Australia from overseas and also from all over Australia.  This is just one of the great things I love about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  Meeting more creative people, swapping creations, laughing and learning new techniques and business lessons as well.  They really support their Demonstrators from Hobby Demonstrators to those who are building successful businesses.

I have finished my 50 swaps.....

I have made my 50 swaps this year with all the new 2016-2018 In Colours -  Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  Also the background is using the "Touches of Texture" Stamp Set and the sentiment from the "Garden in Bloom" Stamp Set and, of course, the gorgeous heart using the Framelit from the Bloomin' Heart Framelits.  The heart has been cut from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack.  So it all matches :) :) I hope they all like them.

The Event is a 2 1/2 day event and we all stay somewhere close to the Convention Centre so we don't miss out on one minute of the fun!!  So Roomie Gifts are essential for my other 3 Roomies for each night :) :)  These are all finished too but I can't show you them yet as that would spoil the surprise hahaha  So next Blog after the event I will share pics of them :)

Happy Stamping Everyone

PROJECT LIFE ALBUM

Still working on my Europe Trip Album and the next 3 pages completed are 13, 14 and 15...

Just so easy slotting the photos and the journalling into the pockets and they are protected from the outside air as well.  The flowers I used for embellishing were ones that were left over from another card project so I use all by extra bits here in my Albums.  Nothing is wasted :)

Happy stamping

Coffee, Cake and Card Morning

Hello Stampers

I had my first Coffee, Cake and Card Morning (which I call my CCC Event) recently and it was a great success :) :)

It was an introductory to cardmaking morning and so a very easy card to start with.  I will change it up more as we go along for future events.  I designed a flower themed birthday card and some of the ladies changed theirs later to suit the occasion they had in mind.  I used the Swirly Bird Stamp Set and supplied one of the framelit shapes in their pack to add to their card for a dimensional look.  As the event is held in my local Coffee Shop - Myrtle's Pantry - here on the Sunshine Coast it is difficult to have the participants use any tools like a Big Shot or even a heat gun so I did all that type of preparation beforehand..
So here is my basic card on the left and another showing a bit more complexity....

I also showed that just by adding a little "Wink of Stella" Glitter it adds that bit of extra bling...

One of my lovely class ladies, Dawn, had an 18th Birthday coming up so she adjusted hers to suit that occasion.  Here is Dawn's beautiful card.....

So really looking forward to our next CCC in September and trying to make it a monthly event.  This next one will be a Christmas Theme to get them all started on their Christmas creations for this year :) :) :)

Happy stamping everyone

Also I have been continuing with my Europe Trip Album and here are pages 10, 11 and 12....

Most of the towns that the ship stopped at had maps of important things to see and do during our tours so I have used these maps as background designer papers for interest.  Also added a little stamping on this last page and also use a lot of my little stamped out/punched left over images from other projects on these pages.

Happy browsing through the new Holiday Catalogue :) :)

More fun holiday pages

Hi there Stampers

Still working on my Europe/Italy Holiday Album in between preparing for my first class since going away and my first Coffee, Cake and Card morning at Myrtle's Pantry - my local coffee haunt :)  Also getting ready for the new Holiday Catalogue Launch on September 1!!!  So much excitement for August :) :) I just love it.

I think I doubled up on my previous pages :( so here are the correct pages 5 and 6......

I added a bit of background stamping to this page using my all time favourite - Gorgeous Grunge and also the big Welcome from  "Welcome Words" Stamp Set.  It is retired now from the previous Occasions Catalogue. This is the first day we boarded our APT ship the Amareina and were welcomed by the Bar Staff :)

I print all my own photos using Kodak Matte Photo Paper and choose a few from my vast collection to highlight in my album.  When I can't choose just a couple normal size I print a number of little "Passport" size pics like these ones above.  Here a little background stamping again seeing that I am using plain Whisper White 12" x 12 " cardstock as my base.  This stamping is using the "Playful Backgrounds" Stamp Set in this latest Annual Catty. As we are now sailing on the Amareina the bubbles in this set were very apt :)

And now Pages 7,8 and 9.......

A little Washi Tape plus a little journalling is all that is needed for this page

and I may just come back at a later stage and add a little bit more embellishing to this page??  Not sure yet???

A rainy day on Day 6 calls for a bit of brightening up so I added some gold embossing stars to the red on the journalling card.

Happy stamping everyone

Thoughtful Branches

Hello Stampers

August is a very special month for a couple of reasons.
  1. A new and fun stamp set and bundle are available to purchase.  It has so many fun stamps and framelits and already on Pinterest are lots of creative ideas to use them. - The Thoughtful Branches Bundle.
http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=144328&utm_source=olo&utm_medium=main-ad&utm_campaign=new-olo-homepage

I have used it in a couple of different ways.  Firstly, for these generic cards I made for a local gift/clothing store in my area

and then using the negative of one of these trees to make this card -

2.  Secondly, if you have earned any Bonus Day Coupons in July you can redeem them now to buy this new stamp set even cheaper!!! Just pop on over to my store and shop away :)

Now up to Pages 5 and 6 of my Holiday Album -

As you can see on Page 5 I have not finished my journalling but I plan to come back to that a little later on and finish it off.  Another great thing you can do with Project Life as I just pop that square card out of its pouch and write some detail and pop it back in.  So, so easy.

Now off to do a couple more pages of my album :)

Happy stamping

Bonus Days nearly over...

Hello Stampers

Our special promotion during July is nearly over :(  BONUS DAYS - if you have that wish list and it is growing? now is the time to cross a few things off that list and pick up some free coupons in the process.  For every $90.00 you spend you receive a $9.00 coupon to spend through August.  That will help with some of the other things on your wish list :)  Just click on the "Shop Now" link below.

 TH_Social1_BonusDays_demo_July2516_AU
Meanwhile my Holiday Album continues.  Here are Pages 3 and 4.  As you can see Page 4 is not yet finished.  I will come back to that one a little later to finish the journaling.  That is another plus for Project Life as you can continue with your album easily and return to do more at a later date.  Love it :) :)

You can also just use any left over bits to embellish.  I have used the pink feather in the top left hand pic.  It is from my "Perpetual Calendar" kit and an extra left over.  So nothing gets thrown away much in my craft room :)  A bit of washi tape here and there and walah!!!! Everyone will think you are so creative when they look through your album :) :)

More pages to come soon.

Happy stamping

Project Life Album time

Hello Stampers

I am back from my wonderful 5 week trip in Europe and Italy.  I celebrated my 60th Birthday on a Rhine River Cruise and then traveled down for a week in Tuscany Italy via Reims (The Champagne District of France), Basel in Switzerland and Lake Como in North Italy.  I loved every minute and if I had to pick a favourite there was more than one.  I loved Basel in Switzerland as it is a smaller town rich in history and I got to see parts off the beaten Tourist track thanks to the wonderful family I stayed with on the outskirts of Basel.  Tuscany, of course, is just so beautiful with the cute little town of Greve in Chianti only a 15 minute drive from our Villas and also San Gimignano, a bit longer drive but oh so worth it.  Here is a pic of the Villas we stayed in just to give you a bit of an idea

So I have come home with lots and lots of happy snaps and will be putting a collection of them together in a Project Life Album over the next few weeks.  I just love Project Life as it makes it so much easier to put this kind of album together in no time at all.  It allows for a quick and simple album or one with a little more embellishment and flair.  Whatever is your style.  For those who know me well I tend to go for the more embellished look so this time I will be restraining myself and going for the "middle-of-the-road" look :) :) :)

For those of you who don't know too much about Project Life I will be sharing my pages with you all over the next month or so and you will see just how easy it is but still very effective.  Becky Higgins is the Creator of Project Life and works closely with Stampin' Up! and all the beautiful colours and embellishments they have to offer as well.  Check out the Project Life line in the Annual Catalogue under Memory Keeping.  You will just love it all.

So here are Pages 1 and 2 of my album:-

I traveled with my high school buddy of 47 years!! so Page 1 has our Year 8 High School photo of when we first met :)  All together there were 9 of us for the first few weeks and then 10 for the last week.

As you can see the photos just slot into the various size slots of the Project Life Page Protectors.  I have added a few stamps and ribbons and stickers from my other stamping collections as well as from the Accessory Packs and the Project Life Card Collections available on Pages 163 - 165 of the Annual Catalogue.

You will see "Duck" feature all through my album as I take "Duck" on all my travels and he always gets his photo taken at the various touristy spots :)   Here on Page 1 he is enjoying a cool beverage on the plane trip from Brisbane to Dubai.  The first leg of our trip.

So stay tuned for Pages 3 & 4 coming soon :)

Happy stamping everyone

Saturday 4 June 2016

The new 2016/2017 Catalogue is now up and running!!!

Hello there Stampers

Well my competition closed at the end of May and there were no entries this time so there will be another opportunity to grab those "give-away" freebies later in the year.

My new Catalogue Launch held on Saturday the 28th May was a ton of fun.  Everyone got to see and touch and feel some of the new fun things now available in this beautiful catalogue and they liked what they saw, touched and felt :) :) :)  Thank you Kay, Karen, Wil, Val and Trish  and thank you Sonia for opening your home for us all :)

The Swirly Bird Bundle has been super popular and I am loving it more and more every day.

Swirly Bird Photopolymer Bundle

We all made a card using this bundle at the Launch and there were lots of "ooohs! and ahhhs!" It was a very simple design but very effective and the greeting is from the "Circle of Spring" stamp set.

Of course there were quite a few little left over Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper bits which I simply cannot just throw away.

This is what I salvaged as I was sure I could do something with them :)

So here is card # 1 using another favourite - "Timeless Textures" for the border look and a colour combo of Blushing Bride, Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.  Can you see which left over I used here?

Card # 2 - once again using "Timeless Textures" and the greeting from the "Birthday Blooms" set.  The DSP (Timeless Elegance) is a retired one that I really love and am quite sad that it has gone but will continue to love using it while it lasts.  Can you see the leftover piece that I used here???

Card # 3 - the last 2 left over pieces are here.  It is hard to see in the pic but I stamped the larger swirly bird flower on crumb cake and popped the glimmer paper swirl on top.  I also had a play with one of the new Hostess stamp sets - "Love you Lots" using the cute little lady bugs.    The DSP is the new Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP in the new 2016/2017 Catalogue. The cardstock used is Crumb Cake and Night of Navy.

I hope you have all got your hands on the new Catalogue now and checking out all the fabulous design ideas and fun products you can play with : )  If you haven't and you live in Australia just email me here and I will get one to you.

Happy stamping and Catalogue drooling!
