A little bit of bling!

Here is a card I made to share with my stamping group on the weekend and the bling on the ribbon is hand made.  I would like to thank Angela Sergeant for sharing this little trick and for those times when you think just that extra little bit of bling would finish off your project and you don't want to jump in the car and drive to your local "bling" supplier at the last minute here is your answer.

For this particular one shown here I used the circle punch from the "Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack" and the 3/4" circle punch cut from a window sheet (#114323), then I cut a very tiny clear strip to form the buckle and glued it on with a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue (#110755).  This makes a buckle using the largest of the Rhinestones which you just pop on around the circle. Pop in the ribbon and your bling is finished.  I love it!!!

The heart is using the small heart punch and topped with crystal effects to make it pop out that little bit more :)

Materials used:-

Stamps: Love and Laughter from the Autumn-winter mini catalogue ending 31 July 2012
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red and Perfect Plum
Punches: Small Heart, itty bitty shapes punch pack circle, 3/4' circle and scallop oval.
Accessories: Perfect Plum 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones and white embossing powder, Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - hearts.
Ink: Versamark and Basic Black

I will not be posting any cards for the next couple of weeks as I will be on a road trip from Brisbane to Darwin with my brother and nephew who are visiting from Minneapolis, Minnesota.  So I plan to blog as much of the trip as I can so watch this space to see a bit of the outback of Australia.

Happy creating everyone
Janette  :)

Triple Blossom Punch

 The Warner Girls

Maree, Sonia & Karen and myself - had a day of card making on Sunday.  We concentrated on Valentines Day cards to take to our various workplaces.  All up 14 cards were created.

We also did a "Make and Take" using the new Triple Blossom Punch.

I had used the punch on my example pictured here which I made the night before.  Upon demonstrating how the punch works with much enthusiasm it decided not to work for me :(.   A perfect time to use my improvising skills.  So sometimes things do not quite go to plan.   The girls ended up making wonderful cards regardless of a malfunction!!
After help from the wonderful team at Demonstrator Support I now realize that you have to put a little muscle behind these new triple style punches and use on a hard flat surface.  Standing up and firm even punching is also a handy hint to know.  I think I have now mastered the technique for this new punch and am really loving it

All in all it was a very productive day and many cards were made and many laughs were had.  This year we have decided to make sure we meet at least every 6 weeks to boost our store of cards for sales and catch up on any new techniques and ideas. I will add the date of the next gathering in my events.  If anyone is interested in joining us just email me via this blog.

Bordering on Romance

My favourite stamp set at the moment is the "Bordering on Romance" set in the Autumn - winter mini catalogue. You can use this set in so many different ways. This catalogue ends soon on July 31 so be quick if you would like it also and email me to order it for you wherever you are in Australia.
I would love to be your personal Demonstrator smiley
I am not much of a colouring in girl but this set just lends itself to a bit of colour.  I made this card for a special friend whose birthday was in July.
I stamped the images on Sahara Sand cardstock with Versamark and then used white embossing powder.  The colouring process is so easy as the embossing keeps you in the lines.  Although it doesn't really matter if you go outside the lines a little as I like things that are not quite perfect.  The greeting is from the " Well Scripted " stamp set and this is another of my favourites at the moment. Sadly this set has retired but I have also used the Happy Birthday from the "Perfectly Penned" set.   You know how you tend to often use the same greeting if you can?
I added a little Rhinestone bling and a couple of pure white butterflies from the "Beautiful Wings" Embosslits Die to finish it off.

Materials used:
Stamp Sets - Bordering on Romance 127510 (W) and 125482 (C); Well Scripted (Unfortunately retired)
Cardstock - Cajun Craze, Sahara Sand and Whisper White
Accessories - Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon; White Embossing Powder; Rhinestones, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die; Stampin' Write Markers - Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango from the Brights Collection (#119702)
Punches - Decorative Label
Thanks for looking and happy creating heart

Stamping for a great cause

Hi there Stampers
I have been quite busy over the last week.  I have had a birthday and have received lots of lovely hand made cards from friends and family.  Turning 56 is not as bad as I thought.  Not only am I now retired from my full time job and I can spend much more time with my beautiful Grandson, Tyler, who is now nearly 8 months old, but also I can spend lots more time in my craft room cardmaking and scrapbooking the first year of Tyler's gorgeous life.  I will share a page with you all real soon.   I am having the time of my life right now smiley
One of the lovely ladies in my WGs and Friends Group, Narelle, has asked if we can make some cards to donate to the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital Premature Baby Unit.  These cards are given to the families of the babies who reach the very important 100 day milestone and are signed by all the nurses who have been part of bub's life during these 100 days.  I thought, what a wonderful idea and have made these 2 cards to start our donations off.  We hope to make a couple of these each at every regular gathering from now on.

I just love this stamp set "Baby Prints" in the current Autumn-winter mini catalogue.  You have to be quick to get this set though as this mini ends on July 31 2012.  So send me an email if you wish to order it.
Happy Stamping  heart

Warner Girls Gathering

Hello Stampers
Another successful Warner Girls Gathering has come and gone last weekend.  I was able to share all my Roomie Gifts and swaps with the girls and also share a couple of handy hints that I learnt at the Canberra Convention.  One of those great handy hints came from Teresa Dabrowski - thanks Teresa.  This was to use Rhinestones stuck together at the end of bakers twine to give that "bauble" effect.  I added it to a friend's birthday card and just gave it that bit of bling finishing touch.  I was very happy with the end result

I also used the Doily Triple Layer Punch Step 3 and embossed over all images with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I then added the additional Step 1 and Step 2 of the Doily Punch on top with the greeting and the bling.  The colours are Bravo Burgundy and Blushing Bride and Whisper White.

Other WG creations on the day include these two from Dana

Here Dana has used the "Bring on the Cake" Stamp Set (123545 W and 121958 C), the Scallop Circle Punch and the Blossom Punch with Pool Party and Calypso Coral Cardstock

Happy Stamping and TFL

Canberra Convention 2012

Hello Stampers,

Firstly I would like send a very warm welcome to Farzaana who has joined the Stampin' Up! team and taken advantage of the easier joining process and the completely customisable Starter Kit.  I hope you really enjoy your Stampin' Up! adventure Farzaana.

South Pacific Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 is now over for another year.  It was my first time at a Convention and what fabulous time I had smiley

It is tradition that all first timers have their photo taken with the gorgeous Shelli Gardner, the CEO of Stampin' Up! so here I am...

My roomies were Trish, Genelle, Kim and Tina from left to right below,  and we had just the best time and only had a short walk to the Convention Centre from our apartment.  Here we all are at the beginning of our Convention adventure...

We received a "Convention Bag" on arrival and the design of this bag changes each year.  Last year I have been told it was an orange one that was not the most popular....This year it was a very nice dark navy carry satchel type bag with pockets on each side.  I think everyone loved this one this year.
                                          t
Kim made all us girls the bag tag, isn't it just so gorgeous!  I will also share a few of the "Roomie Gifts" that I received in my next blog.
Next Convention will be held 23 - 25 May 2013 in  Brisbane!!!!! Yay!! and in between we have Regionals in November 2012.  So much to look forward to.
Happy Stamping everyone and thanks for looking heart

April News

Hi Everyone,

I have been busy playing with my new Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) from Stampin' Up!  It makes it just so easy for those fun things like making boxes of all shapes and sizes and, my favourite, making my own envelopes.

Above is a small squarish envelope to fit the "For You' card above.  The card is Elegant Eggplant (108614) measuring 5 cm x 5.2 cm; Mixed Bunch Stamp Set ( 125537 C or 127516 W ); Blossom Punch (125603); More Mustard Brad (119737); Lace Ribbon Border Punch (122362) ; For You stamp is from the "Fresh Cuts" retired stamp set.

I have also been using my Simply Scored to dry emboss some of my cards - super easy and a nice clean, crisp effect shown above.

The Warner Girls are gathering for a day of card making, fun and idea sharing on Sunday 6th May so I will have more creativeness to share with you all in the weeks afterwards.

If you have been thinking you may like to join the Stampin' Up! Team , either as a Hobbyist to get discounts on all commisionable products, or as a Business Venture you can operate from home, then from May 1st 2012 it will become much easier and more economical.  You can register online here and your Starter Kit is purely customisable up to the value of $235.00.  It will be much more flexible than it used to be.  If you have any questions about joining just send me a message.

Happy stamping and thanks for visiting

Male Birthday cards

Hi Everyone,

Life is pretty hectic at the moment but I only have 1 more week of work left till I retire from my "day job" and then have more time to spend on my Stampin' Up fun job.  Looking forward to that.  Starting off with a stamping catch up day next Sunday.  Will post some photos of the day afterwards.

I have been creating a few male birthday cards in the last few weeks.  First one is for my son who turned 29 on the 27th so here is the card I created for him

I coloured the balloon in with Night of Navy  and used Crystal effects to make it stand out.
The birthday wishes greeting is from "So happy For You" stamp set. Wonderful Son is from the "Wonderful Favourites" stamp set.  Simple but effective.  I use this one a lot.  Scallop edge is from the  DSP Patterns Stack - Brights Collection - Pacific Point.  The balloon is from the "Crazy for Cupcakes" stamp set.

The other male card was for my brother in America

This one was using Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.  The star is from "Sprinkled Expressions" from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and the birthday greeting is from "Happiest Birthday Wishes" stamp set.  I also used the Houndstooth Textured Expressions Embossing Folder and the Decorative label punch.

Hope you like them and thanks for looking
Until next time....happy creating
