Happy New Year to all my wonderful Crafters out there.  Hope you are all keeping well during these crazy and consistent COVID times!!  Here in Queensland where I am the Ugly UK Strain of the Virus has raised its ugly head and the Greater Brisbane area is in a 3 day Lockdown this weekend to ensure the one case we have does not turn into more cases.  So I am not in lockdown as I am just outside Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast but it is a rainy dismal day here so I don't mind staying indoors and crafting away the days 😁😁

Especially as the new January - June Mini Catalogue has now started and all the fun goodies inside are available for customers to purchase.  

I am also planning my Classes for the next 3 months and here are the dates so far.  All subject to change if our COVID Rules come into play...

I have been playing with a few new products for my Saturday Card Making & Papercrafting Class coming up at the end of the month.  I have used some of the "Flower & Field" Designer Series Paper  (DSP) which is free in the SALE-a-Bration Brochure as a "One Sheet Wonder" Technique and some examples but the Class will actually be making their own background DSP using the fun "Pretty Perennials" Stamp Set on page 31 of the Mini Catalogue.

I really hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend time with Family where you are.  Here in Queensland we are not restricted too much at all and I had all my Family at my place on Christmas Day.  So much fun and laughter with the Grandchildren.  I have 4  - 9, 6, 5 and nearly 4.  It is just so exciting with the littlies around and putting out the milk and chocolate for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer.

So now it is time to get back into the craft room and start all my Birthday Cards for January.

I have been playing with one of the new Suites in this upcoming Mini Catalogue - The Fine Art Floral Suite -  and made these two cards for special birthdays coming up in January.

I am just loving the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper and the matching Specialty Acetate that fits perfectly over the top of selected sheets in the collection

December News

 Hi there Stampers

It has been very amiss of me and I have not updated my Blog in way too long. The end of the year for my Classes has come and gone and now taking a break to get ready for my Christmas Celebrations.  I will have all my Family here at my place this year and it will be simply wonderful.  My Son and his Family will be here from Canberra and my Daughter and her Family from Brisbane.  We are so lucky here in Australia where we now have not many new cases of COVID19 popping up and the ones we do have are Travellers coming back into Australia from Overseas.  So they are quarantined for 14 days as soon as they arrive in Australia and are tested to make sure they are negative after that time.  So my Son and his Family are free to travel to Queensland from the ACT and I am just so glad 😊😍

I still have many more Christmas Cards to make though and send out to all my Family and Friends.

Every year I send a Christmas Card to each of my 4 Grandchildren and this year I used a retired set called "On to Adventure" as it has a little Grandma Lady stamp that I thought was just like me and teamed it up with the little Greeting from "Gnome for the Holidays" as well as the Christmas Tree using the "Pine Woods" Dies

They should be receiving them in the mail in the next few days.

Delving into the Video World!!

 Hello Stampers

Hope you have all been able to spend some quality time stamping 😀😀  as we get closer and closer to Christmas....aaghh!  I am nowhere near organised haha.  

I have my last Class for the year this Saturday and a Coffee Cake & Card Morning next Tuesday so then I will be concentrating on my own Christmas Cards and shopping for the Family.  I have all my Family together here at my house this year so there will be lots of noisy laughter and fun times.  So exciting!!!  I certainly hope you can all get together with your Family this Christmas.

So I have decided it was time I started making some Stamping Videos.  Here is my latest:-

I am still very new at this and learning as I go.  I have, accidentally, set this video so that no comments are allowed. 😞 and I don't know how to change it???  So you see I am learning.  The next one will be better.

I enjoyed a fun Class last night with just 3 Ladies, one of which was very new to stamping and I am sure she left with just as much excitement as me 😁😁

Christmas is not too far away my friends - just 36 days!!!!

World Card Making Weekend 2020

 Hello Stampers

Well where has that time gone??  Sorry for being away so long.  Leading up to Christmas gets so hectic!!

Firstly I wanted to Thank everyone who came along to my World Card Making Weekend Open House 9th - 11th Ocober.  It was a great success with more than 120 cards made over the 2 1/2 days.  Lots of creativeness, laughter and fun was experienced by all and $150.00 was donated to the National Heart Foundation. Thank You all!!!

Many prizes were won over the course of the weekend with the major prizes picked up by these lucky ladies -

Lots of creative fun and laughter was had by all and we are all looking forward to a more "Normal" Year next year   😊

One of the cards we all made at World Card Making Weekend was using the "Floating Frame" Technique which is supposed to look like this - 

You make 2 x cards using this technique.  This is what it is supposed to look like 😊  However I chose to modify mine somewhat and not cut out the middle.  So I left it in its entirety and this is the result - 

I quite like this look as well.  So if you follow my Facebook Page "Stamping Daze with Janette" you would have read my post about the "Mistake" making my card 😁😁  This explains my "mistake".

We are now full steam into Christmas Card production.  I still have heaps to make for my own collection and also donate a lot of Christmas Cards to the WishList Sunshine Coast Foundation at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

World Card Making Day 2020

Hello Stampers

Well here we are again at this time of year and World Card Making Day is fast approaching 😃 

This year of 2020 is not "Normal" as we all know it and World Card Making Day falls on a long weekend here in Queensland.  So I will be changing it up somewhat and celebrating "World Card Making Weekend"  but on the following weekend 😁

Current COVID-19 Restrictions here in Queensland @ 31 August 2020 are as follows:-

As there are limited venues available I will be holding an Open House Event at my own home here on the Sunshine Coast over 2 1/2 days.  Bookings will be absolutely essential to keep my numbers within my limits.  Watch my Blog, Facebook Page "Stamping Daze with Janette" and Website Calendar here for any updates closer to the date.

We will still be having all the fun that World Card Making Days have brought in the past, just in the comfort of my own home and for a couple more days, and this will mean more funds to be raised for the National Heart Foundation of Australia. 👏 As I lost my husband at a very young age to Heart Disease this Foundation means a lot to me.

I will be opening my doors on Friday 9th October 2020  from 2:00 - 4:30

Saturday 10th October from 9:00 - 4:00

Sunday 11th October from 9:00 - 4:00

COST:    $50.00 for 1 Full Day

                 $75.00 for 2 Full Days

              $20.00 for half a day

2 1/2 days full of crafting fun, Make and Takes, Lucky Door Prize and other give aways.  

Come along and learn some new techniques or just see what all the fun of Stamping and Card Making is all about. I am sure you will fall in love with it and all the beautiful Stampin' Up! ® products we use.

Lunch and Morning and Afternoon Teas will be supplied and all materials to complete your projects. Some adhesives will be supplied but extras will be available for sale on the days.

It will have a "Christmas Theme" mainly but a few other occasion projects will be thrown in as well.  If you can wear Christmas colours there will be a few random prizes for the best bright Christmas attire 🎅🎄

Once again I will also be asking for 1 card from each attendee on each day to be donated to one of my chosen Charities - Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation - Sunshine Coast University Hospital; Ronald McDonald House Charities South  East Queensland; Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit Royal Brisbane Hospital.
