Fun with a Card-in-a-Box!

Hello Stampers

Here we are at the last day in January!!! Once again the months just whiz by faster and faster the older I get :(  I am having lots of fun along the way though.

My January classes have gone super well and I have had so much fun sharing my love of Stampin' Up! products and creating beautiful cards and gifts with all the fabulous colours and stamps. As well as meeting new fellow crafters in my area.

We have done Birthday cards with a female theme then Masculine cards and now yesterday we made a few for the kids :)  I used mainly the "Zoo Babies" stamp set as this is just so versatile for little wee kiddies up to the teenagers.

My absolute favourite card in yesterday's class was the Card-in-a-Box.  The kids just love these.  Recently I have made a Dinosaur one for my Grandson when he became a big brother last June...

Then a more girly one for my best friend's grand daughter who turned 5 in January.....

So yesterday's one was using mainly the elephant from Zoo Babies as I tried to eliminate too much fussy cutting for the ladies.  I just recently saw somewhere that there are Framelits available, in America, for this stamp set but they have not been included in the Australian Catalogue :(  I have my fingers crossed that they will be in our next Annual Catalogue for 2016/2017!!!

So now I am preparing for my February Classes of which I am having 2 so you can pop on over to my website here to see all the details and how you can book in.  They are filling fast as I keep my classes to a maximum of 6 people.  The next class will be cards with a Wedding theme and I will be featuring the "Bloomin' Love" Stamp Set and matching "Bloomin' Heart Framelits Dies as well as the "For the New Two" Stamp Set.  Hope that you can join me :)

Happy Stamping

January Classes off and running!!!

Hello Stampers

Here we are half way through January already!!!  Time is flying by this year.  I held my first class for this year last Saturday and the theme was "Birthday Cards" to start the year off and get that birthday stash under way :)

Here are a few of the things we played with...

I have also decided that at each class I will be making a card to donate to a charity/organisation and have all my class make one with me.  So the first card we made was for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of which Stampin' Up! support also.  So we all made this card using the emboss resist technique and the ladies really enjoyed it, even those ladies who normally hate "sponging"!!!

I sent them off to the Brisbane Ronald McDonald House at South Brisbane on Monday and they were so looking forward to receiving them :):)

My next class this weekend will be a Male Card Theme and the donation card will be made for Combat Cards Queensland who sends handmade cards to our Australian Armed Forces serving in Afghanistan, Egypt, East Timor and PNG as well as wherever else they are needed in the world.

I now have 1 spot still available so if you are near the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and wish to come along and join in the fun just email me here :)
Here is a sneak Peek at what we will be making......

Also Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I have been playing with the new stamp set in this Occasions Catalogue called "Bloomin' Love" and making a few small gift cards for my local Cafe near me that sells yummy cakes made on premises as well as a small gift line

The Sealed with a Kiss stamp on the back of the mini envelopes is from a retired set called "Sent with Love"

I just love the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Happy Stamping

New Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration.....very exciting times!!!

Hello Stampers

I hope you are all as excited as I am right now :) I just love this time of year.  A fresh new year to start and look forward to all that life throws our way and , of course, it is SALE-A-BRATION time!!!  I love getting free stuff and especially from Stampin' Up!

For all my new readers from 5 January till 31 March 2016 you get to choose free goodies from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure every time you spend $90.00 (My Australian readers only) If you are in a different country just check out your local Demonstrator's website to see what they are offering.

There are cool stamp sets on offer as well as designer vellum, Project Life goodies for the scrapbookers, designer series paper and lots of ideas and inspiration.

I have been lucky enough, as a Demonstrator, to get my hands on some of the goodies way before January to have a play with.  One of my favourites so far is the "Flowering Fields" stamp set.  You can do just so much with this set.  Here is my latest creation for a fellow stamper in my "INKcredibles" stamping group...

Don't you just love the little butterfly.  I did have to fussy cut him out but he is so cute and doesn't take long to cut and add to the card just where you want to :)

Another stamp set that is fun and easy to use is the "Botanicals for You" stamp set on page 4 of the Brochure.  I really like embossing these words as they just pop right out of the card at you.  Here are 2 that I made.  One with Mint Macaron and one with the "ever-popular" black.  You can't really see the embossing in the pic too well but it does look great up close and in real life :) :)

Can you see the new Botanicals Garden Jewel that I used here as well?   They are so lovely too. The little flowers that I added here and there are from a retired mini punch set but you could use the "Itty Bitty Accents" Punch Pack on page 166 of the Annual Catalogue.   The "Make a Wish" stamp on the front of the envelope is from the Party Wishes Stamp Set on page 5 of the new Occasions Catalogue

I have also fussy cut out a few of the little flowers in the set and strategically added them to this card for a little added effect.  I will let you all in on a little secret...don't tell anyone....when I stamped a couple of the little flowers, as they are very small and a little tricky to use, I also got some ink from around the stamp on the card......easily fixed....add some fussy-cut out flowers to hide the little boo-boos :) :) so there is always a way to fix those little mistakes.  A little handy hint here is to only press down lightly on any small sized stamp you are using.

So you, too, can start collecting ALL the free goodies in this current Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  Just click on the products below and purchase at my Demonstrator website.

Happy New Year and happy stamping everyone
Janette
