February Fun

Hello Stampers

The weather here on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia has been a little on the wet side the last week or so and they say there is more to come.  Just simply wonderful crafting weather!!

However today the Sunshine Coast Council ran a number of "Clean Up for the Hatchlings" Events at various beaches near me.  Quite a large number of Loggerhead Turtles make their nests on our beaches along the Sunshine Coast and they are getting tangled up in fishing line, milk bottle ring tops and also ingesting little bits of plastic floating around in our waters from various places.  So today a couple of friends and I joined in at one of the locations to help clean up our beaches and waterways for these beautiful creatures.  I am happy to say there was much less rubbish collected today compared to previous years so that is a wonderful thing and people are trying to keep our environment clean 👍😀

As you can see our rubbish bag is not very full at all 👏👏😀

A little Bush Turkey chick came to see us on our walking track

It was really great that the rain held off for us while we walked around picking up rubbish.

Then in the afternoon it was crafting time 😁😁

I have been itching to use a little more of the "Peaceful Poppies" Designer Series Paper.  I just love this paper.  I have quite a few birthday cards to make for February so I got stuck into a few.

I decided to also partner it all up using the Dies from the "Christmas Rose" Bundle.  This Bundle was brought out as a special Christmas Set and has been carried over so even though it is not in any of the Catalogues at the moment it is still current and available for purchase if you haven't already got your lucky hands on it 😀  I have decided to use one of the border type dies in the set shown below

So this Die can be used in a few different ways.  Firstly here is my finished card...

The fancy little Blackberry Bliss Border piece is one of the pieces you can use after running the Border Die through your Big Shot or other Die Cutting machine you may have.  These are the pieces that you end up with...

Here I cut out 2 x border frames side by side length ways so they lined up.  You end up with the very small long piece at the top of the pic, 2 x pretty border pieces, the long larger piece which I have used behind my Designer series paper on the card and lots of the punch out bits which are off to the side.

I have used a couple of these at the bottom of my Poppy Plants as you can see in the finished card.  I have saved all the other small punch out pieces for a future project....maybe a shaker card 😉   The Happy Birthday Greeting here is from the new Sale-a-Bration Hostess Set - "Little Ladybug"  I just love this Font.  You can get this set yourself  FREE by either having a party with a group of friends and selling $250.00 or more of product till the end of March or placing an order yourself for $250.00 or more.

My second card is using the actual Border Frame.....

I just lined the 2 Border Frames up to look like they are joined and one continuous piece on the back of the Designer Series Paper and Walah!!! The background card is Calypso Coral which has been run through the Big Shot with the "Subtle" 3D Embossing Folder to take away the plainness.

So versatile and this whole Bundle is not just for Christmas.  I intend to use the large flower stamp on my Mother's Day Cards this year 😁😁

You can get it now too by just clicking on the icons below and it will take you directly to my shop.  Also don't forget, if you are in Australia,  to add my Hostess Code for February - DHVNY4GK -  and I will also send you my Hostess Gift for this month which are some really cute "Twinkle" Adhesive backed sequins.

Happy Stamping everyone
