More Updates.....

Hello Stampers

Stampin' Up! have some big changes to the die-cutting and embossing product line that will give a better opportunity to support the long-term vision they have for the line. While they have worked with the current supplier for many years, they have had the opportunity to reassess this relationship. After extensive research, demonstrator feedback and evaluation, they have decided to move in a new direction and we are all optimistic about this new course.
We strive to provide you with the best papercrafting products and experiences, without sacrificing the quality Stampin’ Up! is known for, all while being mindful of cost and other important considerations, including our Stampin’ Up! value of Innovation: They embrace the spirit of discovery by setting challenging goals, considering opportunities, emphasizing creativity and having the courage to change as they strive to better the best.
Innovation requires risk, and in the pursuit of a better overall die-cutting and embossing product line, they are experiencing more significant challenges than originally planned for. These are not insurmountable challenges, but they are taking time to resolve.
Because of these setbacks, they will not offer a die-cutting & embossing machine in the 2019–2020 annual catalogue. We know this will create some challenges for you, and for that, they apologise. The product development department is moving with responsible haste to work through this issue, and will share more information as things are finalised.

To explain a little further here's what the change in Dies will look like:-

Current Dies

New Dies

The only difference is that the cutting edge is a little further in on the die.  It will still cut the image with a small border as before. The difference is how you place the die on your image.  Not really a great deal of change.

A few more changes:-

  • We’ve improved the adhesive that secures the dies to the insert sheet in the package so that it’s not too sticky. It’s easier to remove dies from the insert sheet, and the adhesive won’t cling to the dies.
  • We’ve standardized the size of the die inserts for easier storage based on our observation of how demonstrators store their dies. There are now only two insert sizes: 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.8 cm), which coordinate in size with our stamp cases, and 6" x 6" (15.2 x 15.2 cm). The standard sizes will allow uniform storage in whatever system you use. The envelopes that the dies come in will be slightly larger.
  • With old-style Dynamic folders, we recommended you spritz cardstock before embossing to soften the fibers so you got a better impression. Now, that extra step will not be necessary because the new-style folders usually create a crisp impression without spritzing. The way the new folders are manufactured also gives us options for more detailed and intricate designs in the future.
  • 3D folders are thinner than our old-style Dynamic folders. Because they are thinner, you will need to use a shim, depending on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use.
Tomorrow a little bit more about our new Storage Line available now.

Happy Stamping

It is Retirement Time!!!!

Hello Stampers

We have now come to a very busy time in our Stampin' Up! Year 😀  I am back from our OnStage 3-Day Event in Auckland and have the new 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue in my hot little hands.  Oh my!!  so many lovely and exciting things to come.  Sorry can't share the inside pages yet 😏 Join my happy Team of "Sunburst Stampers" here now and you can see all the inside fun right now.

Meanwhile there will be quite a few things happening leading up to the new Catalogue that I think you all should know about 😉  I will be updating you all over the next few days so that you are not all overwhelmed at the same time 😃😃😃

Firstly the Retirement List items are now available by clicking on my link to the right of this page.  Go check them all out and I suggest that you order fairly quickly as in past experience the most popular things, like In Color ink pads and re-inkers, will sell out fast.

Please remember, if you are in Australia, to add my April Hostess Code 9PEDXAXN to your Online Order to receive your free pack of 6" x 6" "All My Love" Designer Series Paper as a Thank You from me.

Also the first thing I will talk about is the Retirement of the Stampin' Trimmer and replacement blades..

Stampin' Up! have decided to retire the Stampin’ Trimmer as of 3 June 2019, including all accessories—replacement cutting blades, scoring blades and cutting mats. They have experienced challenges with their supplier and are taking the opportunity to research and explore a replacement option for this product, which will not be the same as the current Stampin’ Trimmer.
There will be a gap in time between when the current Stampin’ Trimmer retires and when a new product becomes available. Once they feel confident in the new offering, they will communicate more details.

While the replacement cutting blades will also retire with the trimmer and will not be featured in the annual catalogue, they have ordered what would normally be six months of inventory based on recent historical patterns to help demonstrators and customers during this transition away from our current trimmer. But please know that this news could cause faster inventory depletion. When the retiring list goes live on 15 April, the order limit for the blades will be set to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available). And from now until September, we will receive intermittent shipments from the supplier. Throughout these months, we anticipate times when the blades will not be orderable (and not offered as a backorder). During those downtimes, you may receive notification when the blades are available again.

To quote Brian King, a Demonstrator in the US who says it all brilliantly:-

When Change happens the door for Innovation is opened. How is anyone supposed to improve if they just want to do everything the same way as before?
While I love my Stampin' Trimmer and use it absolutely every day I am excited about the opportunity of a new and improved product.  I have ordered a few spare blades to keep me going and if you need to back up your supplies then order yours quickly too so as to avoid disappointment.  Click on the replacement blades icon below to go straight to my Online shop.

Tomorrow I will cover more on Die-Cutting and Embossing Product Line Changes.  See you back here tomorrow

Happy Stamping

Farewell 2017/2019 In Colors

Hello Stampers

Well, we are now getting ready to welcome a new Stampin' Up! ®  Annual Catalogue starting on June 1, 2019 and also a set of new In Colors for 2019/2021.

Each year a new set of In Colors are introduced which last for 2 years and are then retired.

So currently we have Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel as our In Colors for 2018/2020. See them here

and our soon-to-retire 2017/2019 In Colors are Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.

So I thought I would play with the retiring In Colors a wee bit before they are gone for ever!! 😆😆

A #simplestamping card first using all the colours and the Stamp Set called "All Things Thanks"

and then the same card a little stepped up to send to a very good friend.  It is hard to see in the pic but the words are embossed and quite shiny and fun ❤  The little flowers are from the "Lovely Flowers" Edgelits Dies on page 5 of the Occasions Catalogue which also finishes on 3 June 2019.

Can you see which one is my very favourite of them all even though I will be sad to see all these colours retire.  I am also very excited to see what colours are in the next 2019/2021 Collection 😍

Also one more #simplestamping card using all these fun colours and the "Swirly Bird" Stamp Set on a Powder Pink Cardbase

So if you love these colours as much as I do you need to grab them real soon.  If you already have them make sure you have the re-inkers so that they last for a long, long time 😉

Happy stamping

Painted Seasons

Hello Stampers

All the free Designer Series Papers available during Sale-a-Bration are so lovely.  Today I have been playing with the new "Painted Seasons" Designer Series paper only available till March 31.

I am currently working on Mother's Day cards as here in Australia our Mother's Day is the second Sunday in May and I would love to get some in the mail to the Soldiers overseas so have to do these first.  Then some for the Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation and the NICU at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

First card teamed with Call Me Clover cardstock and the cute "Tufted" Embossing Folder.  A little bit of ribbon and a greeting and is all that is needed.  Nice and simple 😍

Next card using Poppy Parade Cardstock.  Which do you like the best?

Next I will use the "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper.  Who doesn't love butterflies??
